Ha laborado en el Centro de Ciencias Gen\u00f3micas de la UNAM en M\u00e9xico y realizado estancias posdoctorales en Espa\u00f1a (CBGP-UPM) y Brasil (Embrapa Soja). Actualmente se desempe\u00f1a como Docente Principal del Departamento de Biolog\u00eda de la UNALM y es parte del grupo de investigaci\u00f3n del Laboratorio de Ecolog\u00eda Microbiana y Biotecnolog\u00eda (LEMyB). Sus \u00e1reas de investigaci\u00f3n son la biotecnolog\u00eda y la biodiversidad, y sus l\u00edneas de investigaci\u00f3n principales son las interacciones planta-microorganismo; y la evoluci\u00f3n, filogenia y taxonom\u00eda de bacterias.
